5+ year old children • Skin contact product
For school-age kids (5 years and up) carnauba wax is very low risk when used on the skin. It is a plant wax used to thicken and protect skin products and is not known to cause serious harm in normal topical use.
Before using a new product on your child, do a small patch test on the inside of the forearm and watch for 24 hours. Use the product as directed, avoid putting it in your child’s mouth or eyes, and don’t apply to cuts or irritated skin. If your child has known strong plant or pollen allergies, check with your pediatrician first.
Stop use and rinse if you see redness, rash, swelling, blisters, or your child complains of itching or breathing trouble. Ingredient safety reviews report low concerns for allergy and other risks, but allergic reactions are possible in rare cases. If a reaction occurs, contact your child’s healthcare provider or seek emergency care for breathing or severe swelling.
